Gainesville Engagement Session Photos at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens and Baughman Center

Exploring Kanapaha Botanical Gardens

One of Gainesville's treasures for engagement session photos, lies in an unexpected place full of beautiful Florida flora within Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. If you love to connect within natural landscapes, full of fields, moss filled trees, creeks and bridges, then this could be the perfect location for your engagement session! It sure was for Chris and Tina.

Chris and Tina have been together for two years. They love visiting gardens and natural areas. In the last year, Chris introduced Tina to fly fishing and they love fishing together. They also love spending time with their beloved cat, Geordie! The proposal story told by Tina: Chris proposed to me at his family farm in NJ while we were fly fishing. He hid the ring in a fly box and it was a surprise when I found it in there.

the Baughman Center, alligators, and bats...

It was important to Tina and Chris to walk away with engagement photos that can captured their fun side and unique chemistry. Preferring mostly genuine, emotive images, they also desired some traditional portrait style photos. This allowed for a combination of fun games and lots of exploring of the Lake Alice area. Chris' love for nature was highlighted when we were greeted by a few alligators, which of course, we had to photograph. Chris also expressed his fascination with bats, so of course, I made sure to we captured some photos of the bat houses in the background.
