Michelle and Kevin's Gainesville engagement photos at Kanapaha Gardens was nothing short of a romantic date with tons of playful games and moments. When they first moved to Gainesville, they fell in love with Paynes Prairie State Park and would go there all the time to watch the sunset. This no doubt influenced the location they wanted for their session. We initially planned for the session around the Baughman Center, however, decided against it with all the traffic expected from the local UF football game the day of their session. This led us to the other side of town, away from all the traffic, to the gorgeous grounds of the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. It really paid off for them to have a knowledgable Gainesville wedding photographer to help plan this session with all the insider tips!

Using the tips from my Style Guide, Michelle and Kevin dressed with colors inspired by their wedding with pink and light green hues. Like myself, Michelle loves pink, so it's no surprise when she showed up with a pink floral dress with lots of movement and her gorgeous pink engagement ring!

Proposal story: We went to New York to visit Kevin’s family, since that is where he was born. It was my first time visiting and I was very exited! I've always wanted to go to Central Park after seeing the place in so many shows and movies. We went there and I loved it! His family said for us to go up a rock so that we can take a picture. Kevin turns around and says, "This is where my life started so I only see fit that our new life starts here.” Then he got on one knee and held out my beautiful ring!

Michelle and Kevin have been together for 8 years. They love walking on nature trails and sitting on their porch with a cup of coffee and cozy up inside when it rains. Like hopeless romantics, they love sunsets and start gazing. They spend our free time doing crafts and home improvement projects, though their passion lies with enjoying music together. Kevin is a drummer and has an ear for sounds and rhythm while Michelle loves to sing and dance. I know their wedding reception will be a fun dance party for sure!
